These two Subaru Impreza WRX STI Type Rs are real street rally cars

A pair of stunning Subaru Impreza WRX STI Type Rs are currently up for auction at Collecting Cars.

The first car is a 1999 model and is currently in Hong Kong. It’s painted in Aspen White and wears forged 17-inch STI monoblock Rays wheels and has been modified with Cusco suspension, GRB STI brakes, Recaro front seats, a GDB steering wheel and a Defi boost gauge.

The listing states that the car has been driven 98,000 km (~ 60,894 miles) and is free of any significant damage other than a few small stone chips. The situation is similar in the cabin, where the Recaro seats show very few signs of use.

The second Impreza WRX STI Type R is a 1997 model and is in Australia. This one is painted in World Rally Blue and rests on gold 18-inch Revolution Millennium wheels. It also features aftermarket coilovers and a cat-back exhaust. A number of interior upgrades have also been made, including a turbo timer, Greddy displays, a Greddy hand controller, and an aftermarket Kenwood head unit.

This Impreza WRX STI Type R currently has 113,500 km (70,525 miles) on the clock and was fitted with a new clutch less than 1,000 km (620 miles) ago, while the timing belt was replaced a few thousand kilometers ago.

Both cars have the same 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer engine that develops 276 hp and transmits power to all four wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission with a close gear ratio.
