Nigella Lawson says her favorite Australian food makes her a “traitor to her country” because she prefers it to the British version – and lists her snacks for “guilty pleasure” when she doesn’t feel like cooking
Nigella Lawson is known for her sumptuous and voluptuous recipes.
But like everyone else, the cook has a number of guilty joys to indulge in when she doesn’t feel like sneaking over the stove.
The 61-year-old told this week’s issue of Stellar Magazine that she doesn’t like things like pizza and chicken nuggets, and that her deep fryer doesn’t get much use.

‘That’s not really my thing. Not out of snobbery, there is just so much wonderful food that you can eat without cooking, ”she said.
‘Bread and cheese is always fabulous. I can get myself a tub of taramasalata and be very happy to dip blue corn chips in it. ‘

Oh! She even prefers it to the British alternative, marmite – a similar yeast spread that’s more popular over the pond. Right picture: Vegemite and left Marmite
Delicious! “I’m a bit of a traitor to my own country because I have Vegemite rather than Marmite on my toast. I love it, ”Nigella admitted

The cookbook author, who later went on Twitter, has replied to dozens of fans who explained the joke and she hopes the ‘brouhaha’ is over now.
She gave an explanation for the unusual intonation, saying she knew it wasn’t what it was actually said, but it’s actually a “camp joke that has become a habit”.
Nigella added to another fan that part of her sense of humor was “deliberately saying the wrong things” and even joked that she referred to Worcester as a “Wusster-Shusster.”
