Sandy Docherty at the Great British Food Festival by Harwood House

A former Great British Bake Off contestant says she can’t wait to work at a prestigious food festival.

Sandy Docherty, who participated in the 2015 series and is Child Protection and Social Officer at the Titus Salt School in Baildon, will be holding a number of shows at the Great British Food Festival.

The event will take place at Harewood House over the weekend of the May Holidays, and Sandy will be holding four shows a day on the Backstage from Saturday May 29 through Monday May 31.

Sandy shows off sweet and savory dishes for a movie night at home, including sweet nachos and popcorn.

I really look forward to walking in you. Come along and have fun. I’ve worked hard to bring you some movie night goodies to make at home 🎬😘 @ Welcome2Yorks @screenyorkshire @daisybecktv @yorkshirepost @Bradford_TandA @GBBOUK @raymond_blanc @GBfoodfestival @BBCLeeds pic.twitter.com/3VsTENhLB5

Sandy said, “It’s really fun and has a good laugh.

“I love working in school, but it’s good to do that because it’s something I love.”

The line-up includes over 100 top local and national producers, delicious street food, cooking demos, grill stages, great live music and a new “grown your own” stage.

There is entertainment for the whole family throughout the holiday weekend, including free circus skills, a crazy race area, kids’ rides, and a mini-zoo. There will also be fantastic live music throughout the day, with a playlist full of top bands so you can shop, have a bite to eat and then enjoy a well-deserved chill with a local beer (or two) that is great live entertainment.
