Nursing homes are partnering with supermarket to provide the community with a dispensing point for food banks

Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford nursing homes have partnered with their local Morrisons to become a dispensing point for food banks.

The supermarket has equipped the houses with a trolley that allows employees and visitors to the houses to donate their non-perishable goods.

The houses also volunteer with the local grocery bank to drive and collect donated groceries from other local supermarkets.

This provides a great way to have the food donated to the nursing homes delivered at the same time.

Home Manager Dan Bridges said, “We are very excited to be giving back to the community by pooling our resources with Morrisons and Hereford Food Bank.

“We are always looking for ways in which we can support the people around us.

“We find it fulfilling when the residents of our houses also care for other people in need.”
