The 1,000th run of the musical was delayed by the pandemic.
Nica Burns, Producer of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie said, “We’re excited to be performing again and to be the first book musical to reopen the West End.
“Tonight we had twice the joy of celebrating our 1,000th appearance in the West End – a year too late!”
Burns said everyone in Jamie “celebrates a world where everyone, regardless of who they are, where they’re from or how they’re dressed, belongs”.
She added, “Layton Williams and UK tour company Jamie look forward to coming to a theater near you and sending you home with a smile from September.”
Harwood will play Jamie in the film, which will be released worldwide on Amazon Prime Video on September 17th.
