DULUTH, Minn. – CareerForce is holding a job fair at DECC on Tuesday to fill vacancies in the hospitality industry. As the normal tourism season approaches, jobs are emerging in the Duluth area.
It will be a drive through or pass through event, and attendees can fill out universal applications to apply for a handful of hospitality jobs at the same time. While there will be no employers on site, CareerForce staff say there could be on-site interviews for the next week.
“You are preparing for a pretty normal tourism season here in Duluth and you have to hire like crazy,” said Elena Foshay, director of human resources development for the city of Duluth. “It’s a competitive job market out there. There aren’t enough job seekers to fill the jobs, so many employers have raised wages and are offering hiring bonuses, anything to attract job seekers. “
CareerForce staff say the DECC job fair will be on Tuesday from 1pm to 4pm.
