Camden Rotary Club slates Music by the Sea performances for July 4th

CAMDEN — Camden Rotary Club’s annual Music by the Sea Celebration returns to downtown Camden, Monday, July 4th, with an afternoon and evening of live performances by Maine-based musicians.

The Bay Chamber Concerts Jazz Ensemble will start the festivities with a one-hour performance at noon on the Village Green.

The music will resume at the Camden Library Amphitheater with the Casco Bay Wind Symphony’s Broadway and popular music from 2 to 3:15 pm, Singer-Songwriter Chris Ross from 4 to 5 pm, and The Right Track’s danceable rhythm and blues from 6 to 7 :15 pm

Seating will be limited, so audience members are welcome to bring beach chairs and blankets. (If rain is forecast for July 4, some bands will perform on July 3 instead.)

“With the support of our generous sponsors, we have been bringing people together on Independence Day for more than 25 years and are looking forward to the Fourth,” said Camden Rotary President Jonathan Goss, in a news release. “We welcome everyone to join us for some terrific music and good times with their families and friends.”

Thanks to donations from generous sponsors, Music by the Sea is always free to the public. In addition to funding the event, sponsorships support the club’s annual grants to nonprofit organizations in Knox County and Lincolnville.

This year, the club awarded grants to MCH Meals on Wheels, Knox County Homeless Coalition, Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership, Sundog Outdoor Expeditions’ School Outdoor Expedition Program, Merryspring Nature Center’s two-week Summer Ecology Camp for young children, and the Knox County Health Clinic (Mid-Coast Health Net, Inc.) Bringing Smiles to our Children Program.

Sponsorships of this year’s celebration will help fund next year’s round of grants to nonprofits and youth programs. For more information about the club, visit https://www.camdenrotary.org.
