After the 2020 election, the Washington Democrats have a government trifecta for the first time in a decade, and they are keeping their promises of an ambitious domestic agenda to contain the effects of the many persistent crises Americans face.
It started with the passage of the American bailout and continues with the bipartisan infrastructure bill coming through Congress as well as a recently approved framework for a budget of $ 3.5 trillion, which would be the largest expansion of the social safety net since Lyndon Johnson’s great company.
The bipartisan infrastructure bill would be a historically significant investment in roads, bridges, broadband and access to clean water, all of which are in dire need of repair and overhaul. The budget that would go through the reconciliation process aims to take comprehensive action against the devastating effects of climate change and the most vulnerable by expanding Medicare and Medicaid coverage and closing the gaps in human care such as the home Care for the elderly and disabled.

He recently joined me on-air to discuss what is expected in the infrastructure bill and budget package, and how these bold reforms will help the people of the Commonwealth and the South Coast.
