West Shore Beach Cafe is a cute little beach hut cafe on the west bank of Llandudno with great views across the bay to Anglesey and Puffin Island.
The sky above your head is a bit gray, but you can still spot this cafe from miles away due to its bright, sea-blue look of a beach hut.
It’s on a piece of land next to the boardwalk and the quieter West Shore beach.

You can almost feel the sand at your feet from a row of outside tables with a view of windsurfers and surfboarders in action – or falling off like we’ve seen many times!
Welcoming, airy and light, the cafe strives to produce an interesting mix of beach dishes using as much local ingredients as possible.
Yes, there are also sundaes on offer.
The breakfast menu features the Captain’s Breakfast with Edwards of Conwy sausages, while the main course features a mix of burgers, seafood and healthy summer salads.

For the little sea urchins who have got an appetite playing in the sand, there is also a children’s menu called “Young Buccaneers”.
Outside there is a line that appears to be a mix of backpackers, cyclists, tourists and some regulars.
The cabin is relatively small so you may have to wait patiently outside, especially if you want a table in the cabin cafe.
You order your food at the service counter, above which is a blackboard with an incredible amount of hot or cold drinks.

I stare at the variety of cakes on display as the line slowly shuffles blindfolded across the plank like a pirate.
My classy wife is in the mood for the classy fish finger sandwich that is advertised with a few chips.
It comes with tartar sauce, a small side salad and a metal cup full of chips.
We had ordered an extra portion of chips because we thought “a few” might not be enough to fuel us up for our long walk in front of us.
So be careful, these portions are very hearty to say the least!
No kidding – The West Shore Beach Café in Llandudno was a huge hit with our reviewer

I get a little jealous of the food as I watch her tuck into her posh Fischbap, which contained fish goujons rather than fish fingers, but now also had a pinch of the aforementioned chips.
Who Said You Can’t Buy Lessons?
I order the beef and chilli nachos and am warned that the plate could be very hot if placed on the table.
The nachos and beef chilli mix had been microwaved to within an inch, but luckily the cooling aioli cream and chives soothed the taste buds. The hot melted cheese slowly hardened as it cooled over the loaded tortilla chips.
Yes, I ate the whole amount, but I was also aware that I had to walk a few more miles than planned to shake off those calories.
I order a “berry smoothie” from a large selection of fresh fruit offers to deceptively compensate for the triple carbohydrate content of the nachos that have just been digested.
I have the choice between “Berry Burst” or “Berry Energize”.
I choose the latter in a rather embarrassed way that coaxes a crooked smile from the waitress.
She had probably just seen me devour nachos moments before.
It was presented in a trendy jam jar with a straw and was a delicious mix of whipped blueberries, black currants and strawberries. It was a delicious and refreshing pick-me-up, to be fair.
My wife opts for a regular latte for her caffeine kick pick-me-up, and we agree to skip dessert despite the various tempting flavors of Conwy’s famous Priscilla ice cream.
Our table is promptly cleared by the waitress as we walk past the still pressing line.
The sun had finally come out as we stepped outside in the fresh sea air.
The sea had a shimmering bluish cast and the gray was gone.
If life really is a beach then this little sunbeam cafe bar is the place for you.
